New Federal Per Diem Rates for FY27 Published - Significant Increases AnnouncedThe federal government has updated Lodging and Meal & Incidental Per Diem Rates for Fiscal Year 2027. The rates take effect on Oct. 1, 2026. The result for FY27 includes an increase to the standard "CONUS" per diem rate, and increases for all of Ohio's six additional "primary destinations." Ohio Limits Sales Tax Holiday Scope in 2026Ohio has scaled back the annual Sales Tax Holiday. The exemption runs only Aug. 7-9 and applies only to items of clothing priced at $75 or less, school supplies priced at $20 or less, and school instructional materials priced at $20 or less. There is no general exemption for items under $500, and the sales tax holiday does not apply to food purchased for consumption on the premises, including banquets. See more details in the full alert.
